About Still Serving Food
Still Serving Food started from a simple, frustrating question: is that place still serving food? If you've ever walked up to a bar at 9:45 pm only to be told "kitchen closed at 9," you know the feeling. We built a tool to answer that question in real time — for any city, any night.
But the project is about more than late-night searches. It's rooted in a genuine interest in how cities feed themselves: the farmers, the co-ops, the community fridges, the zero-waste kitchens, and the restaurants that treat food as culture rather than commodity.
Our Roots in Madison, Wisconsin
Madison has one of the most vibrant local food ecosystems in the United States. The Dane County Farmers' Market — one of the largest producer-only markets in the country — wraps around the state Capitol every Saturday from April through November. The Willy Street Co-op has been anchoring the east side since 1974, building a community food infrastructure that puts people and the planet before profit. Initiatives like the Madison Food Loop are closing the loop on food waste before it ever reaches the landfill.
This project is informed by that ecosystem. The articles on this site draw on real experience with Madison's food community — the challenges, the innovation, and the everyday acts of choosing local.

The Search Tool
The Still Serving Food search tool crawls restaurant and bar websites in real time to extract kitchen hours, grill hours, and hot food service times. It uses Firecrawl for web scraping and aggregates data from Google Places, OpenStreetMap, and Foursquare to give you the most complete picture possible.
The first search is always free. Additional searches are supported by brief advertisements, or you can subscribe for unlimited searches. See the Search page for details.
Advertising & Monetization
This site uses Google AdSense to display contextual advertisements. Ad revenue helps keep the search tool free for casual users. We do not sell personal data and do not use advertising to track you across other sites beyond what Google's standard AdSense policies permit. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
